When working on hot rods, Armando’s uses leather combined with micro-suede for amazing comfort. Their professionals also use traditional tweeds for hot rod seats. English Wilton wool carpet and German square weave carpet are utilized for both classic cars and hot rods to retain the original character and quality of the carpeting.
Vehicles built during the 1950’s often had white and beige two tone interiors or were upholstered with natural colors such as tan and grey. Also, popular in those years were bright colors like red and white, in addition to a checkered style utilizing black and white two tone upholstery. In the 1960’s, three tone interiors became a popular choice by car makers.
Armando prefers to preserve these traditional styles, but can also customize the design choice to the client’s request. He applies traditional techniques to retain the retro feel of each classic car, resulting in a high quality, stunning interior. Their craftsmen are experts in the old school tuck and roll method which forms deeply filled pleats, versus the less desired top stitch technique.
Armando’s will restore your vehicle with Hartz canvas or vinyl. They will re-upholster headliners with standard or perforated materials and seat inserts with perforated and breathable leather. Turnaround time varies. Minor repairs usually take up to 2 days and major restorations may take 3 weeks, on average.
During the restoration process, your prized vehicle will be protected in their large indoor facility. Visit our shop to see for yourself or call
